Elon
maleJudgesMeaning: “Oak; terebinth”
A Zebulunite judge who led Israel ten years.
Biography
Elon, of the tribe of Zebulun, was a "minor" judge who followed Ibzan and "judged Israel ten years" (Judges 12:11). Scripture records nothing of his deeds beyond his tenure and his burial in Aijalon in the land of Zebulun (Judges 12:12). He is one of several judges whose brief mention nonetheless marks the continued, if quiet, preservation of Israel between the great deliverers.
