Biography
Tidal, called "king of nations" (Goiim), was the fourth of the eastern kings who joined Chedorlaomer of Elam in the campaign against the cities of the plain (Genesis 14:1, 9). His coalition defeated the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah and carried off Lot — only to be routed by Abraham, who pursued them as far as Dan and Hobah and brought back all the captives and goods.
