Biography

Tubal-cain, a son of Lamech by his wife Zillah, was "an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron" (Genesis 4:22) — the originator of metalworking and the forging of tools and weapons. With his half-brothers Jabal (herding) and Jubal (music), he completes the picture of a rapidly advancing antediluvian culture. His sister was Naamah. That such skill arose in the line of Cain shows that human creativity flourished even apart from the godly line of Seth.
