מָעוֹז

And build an altar unto the LORD thy God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the grove which thou shalt cut down. rock: Heb. strong place in the ordered: or, in an orderly manner

God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect. maketh: Heb. riddeth, or, looseth

Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed. their: or, his saving: Heb. strength of salvations

Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me. my: Heb. to me for a rock of strength

Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength.

But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.

For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness. wickedness: or, substance

But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. forces: or, munitions: Heb. Mauzzim, or, as for the almighty God, in his seat he shall honour, yea he shall honour a god, etc pleasant: Heb. things desired

Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain. most: Heb. fortresses of munitions gain: Heb. a price

The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel. hope: Heb. place of repair, or, harbour

The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. strong hold: or, strength

Thou also shalt be drunken: thou shalt be hid, thou also shalt seek strength because of the enemy.
