Overview
Hazeroth was a station on the journey from Sinai toward the wilderness of Paran, remembered for a family rebellion against Moses' unique authority.
Miriam and Aaron speak against Moses
"And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married... Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses?" (Numbers 12:1–2). The LORD heard, and declared Moses uniquely faithful, speaking with him "mouth to mouth."
Miriam's leprosy
God's anger was kindled, and Miriam became "leprous, white as snow." Aaron pleaded, Moses cried out, "Heal her now, O God," and after seven days shut out of the camp she was restored (Numbers 12:10–15).
Onward to Paran
"And afterward the people removed from Hazeroth, and pitched in the wilderness of Paran" (Numbers 12:16) — the next stage toward Kadesh and the sending of the spies.
