But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,

He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. reject: or, frustrate

And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?

And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:

They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, thou hast well said.

The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said I have no husband:

Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?

Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.

Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me?

Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.

And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,

Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well.

So then he that giveth her in marriage doeth well; but he that giveth her not in marriage doeth better.

For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.

For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. with him: or, with me

They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them. exclude you: or, exclude us

Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? hinder you: or, drive you back

Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.

One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus. used: or, ministered

Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.

And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: in: or, well, or, seemly

If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well: after: Gr. worthy of God
