נִיר

And thou shalt make the seven lamps thereof: and they shall light the lamps thereof, that they may give light over against it. shall light: or, shall cause to ascend it: Heb. the face of it

And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always. to burn: Heb. to ascend up

And Aaron shall burn thereon sweet incense every morning: when he dresseth the lamps, he shall burn incense upon it. sweet incense: Heb. incense of spices

And when Aaron lighteth the lamps at even, he shall burn incense upon it, a perpetual incense before the LORD throughout your generations. lighteth: or setteth up: Heb. causeth to ascend at even: Heb. between the two evenings

The candlestick also for the light, and his furniture, and his lamps, with the oil for the light,

And he made his seven lamps, and his snuffers, and his snuffdishes, of pure gold.

The pure candlestick, with the lamps thereof, even with the lamps to be set in order, and all the vessels thereof, and the oil for light,

And thou shalt bring in the table, and set in order the things that are to be set in order upon it; and thou shalt bring in the candlestick, and light the lamps thereof. the things: Heb. the order thereof

And he lighted the lamps before the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.

Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually. to cause: Heb. to cause to ascend

He shall order the lamps upon the pure candlestick before the LORD continually.

And they shall take a cloth of blue, and cover the candlestick of the light, and his lamps, and his tongs, and his snuffdishes, and all the oil vessels thereof, wherewith they minister unto it:

Speak unto Aaron, and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the candlestick.

And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the candlestick, as the LORD commanded Moses.

And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep;

But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel. light: Heb. candle, or, lamp

For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness. lamp: or, candle

And the candlesticks of pure gold, five on the right side, and five on the left, before the oracle, with the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs of gold,

And unto his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a light alway before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me to put my name there. light: Heb. lamp, or, candle

Nevertheless for David's sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem: lamp: or, candle

Yet the LORD would not destroy Judah for David his servant's sake, as he promised him to give him alway a light, and to his children. light: Heb. candle, or, lamp

Even the weight for the candlesticks of gold, and for their lamps of gold, by weight for every candlestick, and for the lamps thereof: and for the candlesticks of silver by weight, both for the candlestick, and also for the lamps thereof, according to the use of every candlestick.

Moreover the candlesticks with their lamps, that they should burn after the manner before the oracle, of pure gold;

And the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs, made he of gold, and that perfect gold; perfect: Heb. perfections of gold

And they burn unto the LORD every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: the shewbread also set they in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the LORD our God; but ye have forsaken him.

Howbeit the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever. light: Heb. lamp, or, candle

Also they have shut up the doors of the porch, and put out the lamps, and have not burned incense nor offered burnt offerings in the holy place unto the God of Israel.

The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his candle shall be put out with him. candle: or, lamp

How oft is the candle of the wicked put out! and how oft cometh their destruction upon them! God distributeth sorrows in his anger. candle: or, lamp

When his candle shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness; candle: or, lamp

For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. candle: or, lamp

NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. lamp: or, candle

There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed. lamp: or, candle

For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: lamp: or, candle

The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out. lamp: or, candle

Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness. lamp: or, candle

The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly. candle: or, lamp

For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out. candle: or, lamp

She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. She: Heb. She tasteth

Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle. I will: Heb. I will cause to perish from them

And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil. settled: Heb. curded, or, thickened

And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof: a bowl: Heb. her bowl seven pipes: or, seven several pipes to the lamps
