What the Bible Says About Uprightness

I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee. present: Heb. found

But the priests were too few, so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings: wherefore their brethren the Levites did help them, till the work was ended, and until the other priests had sanctified themselves: for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests. did help: Heb. strengthened them

If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.

The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.

Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way. directeth: or, considereth

Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.

Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession.

Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.

He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.

Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.

The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just.

He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure. high: Heb. heights, or, high places

He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness. enter into: or, go in in his: or, before him

They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly.

O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly? straitened: or, shortened? uprightly: Heb. upright?

The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net. good: or, godly, or, merciful

The best of them is as a brier: the most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen and thy visitation cometh; now shall be their perplexity.

Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?
