כָּחַשׁ

Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh.

If a soul sin, and commit a trespass against the LORD, and lie unto his neighbour in that which was delivered him to keep, or in fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or hath deceived his neighbour; in fellowship: or, in dealing fellowship: Heb. putting of the hand

Or have found that which was lost, and lieth concerning it, and sweareth falsely; in any of all these that a man doeth, sinning therein:

Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.

Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places. found: or, subdued

Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff.

And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of the LORD which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your God.

Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me. Strangers: Heb. Sons of the stranger submit: or, yield feigned obedience: Heb. lie

He said unto him, I am a prophet also as thou art; and an angel spake unto me by the word of the LORD, saying, Bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied unto him.

If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee.

This also were an iniquity to be punished by the judge: for I should have denied the God that is above.

As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me. As soon: Heb. At the hearing of the ear submit: or, yield feigned obedience strangers: Heb. sons of the stranger

Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee. submit: or, yield feigned obedience: Heb. lie

The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever. submitted: or, yielded feigned obedience: Heb. lied

My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness.

Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain. deny: Heb. belie thee

In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.

They have belied the LORD, and said, It is not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:

By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood. blood: Heb. bloods

The floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail in her. winepress: or, winefat

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: fail: Heb. lie

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be ashamed every one of his vision, when he hath prophesied; neither shall they wear a rough garment to deceive: a rough: Heb. a garment of hair deceive: Heb. lie
