O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall. digged: or, houghed oxen

Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself?

All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me. my: Heb. the men of my secret

As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle;

The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. and: or, and his covenant to make them know it

We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company. We: Heb. Who sweetened counsel

Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:

They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.

God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.

Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation. Praise ye: Heb. Hallelujah

For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.

A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter. A talebearer: Heb. He that walketh, being a talebearer

Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.

He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips. flattereth: or, enticeth

Debate thy cause with thy neighbour himself; and discover not a secret to another: a secret: or, the secret of

Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.

I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation.

For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it? counsel: or, secret

But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.

And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD. assembly: or, secret, or, counsel

Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
