About this chart
The life of Jesus is the hinge of all history, and seeing it in order brings the Gospels into sharp focus. This timeline gathers the key moments — the Nativity, the baptism and start of his public ministry, the great teachings and miracles, the final week in Jerusalem, and the crucifixion and resurrection — onto a single span of roughly forty years, from his birth around 6–4 BC to the resurrection around AD 30–33.
Because the four Gospels tell one story from different angles, a chronological view helps you hold them together: where John's Passovers fit, when the Twelve were called, how the journeys to Jerusalem build toward the cross. Dates in this period are approximate — the year of the Nativity is fixed only relative to Herod's death in 4 BC, and the crucifixion is placed at either AD 30 or 33 — so the chart shows ranges, not false precision.
