Selah Mobile App
Terms of Service
Last updated: July 15, 2026
These Terms govern your use of the Selah mobile app, operated by an individual developer based in Nigeria (“Selah”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the app.
This document covers the Selah mobile app only. Looking for the policies that cover myselahh.com and the Bible API instead? See the website’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Selah. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use the app with the involvement of a parent or guardian, and only a person of legal age may make purchases or give donations through the app.
2. Your account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
- You must provide accurate information at sign-up and keep it up to date.
- One account per person. Do not share accounts or create accounts to evade a suspension.
- You may delete your account at any time — see our Privacy Policy §11 and the Delete My Account page.
3. The service
Selah provides Bible reading and study tools, note-taking (including sermon recording and transcription), a Christian community feed (“Commons”), live group reading sessions (“Read Together”), and optional AI-assisted study features (“Ask AI / Berean”).
Ask AI / Berean is a study aid, not a source of doctrinal authority. Answers are generated from an AI model grounded in retrieved Scripture and are provided for reflection and study — always verify against Scripture itself (cf. Acts 17:11). We are not responsible for theological positions taken by the AI feature, and it should not be treated as pastoral or professional advice.
4. Subscriptions, credits & billing
- Selah offers a free tier and paid tiers, plus optional AI credit packs and cloud storage add-ons.
- All digital purchases (subscriptions, credits, storage) are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play via RevenueCat. Your purchase is subject to the billing, renewal, and refund terms of the store you purchased through.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the renewal date, through your App Store / Play Store account settings — not through Selah directly.
- AI credits and storage add-ons are non-transferable and have no cash value. Unused credits do not entitle you to a refund except as required by applicable law or store policy.
- We may change pricing prospectively; changes will not affect a billing period you have already paid for.
5. Giving / donations
- Selah allows users to give real-money donations to verified church events through our payment processors.
- Selah is not a registered charity, payment institution, or financial advisor. We facilitate the transfer of funds between you and the receiving church; we do not guarantee how a church uses funds it receives.
- Donations are generally final. Disputes about use of funds should be directed to the receiving church; disputes about a failed or incorrect charge should be directed to our payment processor and to us at contact@myselahh.com.
- We verify churches before they can receive donations, but verification is not a guarantee or endorsement of the church’s conduct.
- Church verification. A church admin applying to receive donations must submit identity, address, and bank documents. Submitting false or fraudulent verification documents is a violation of these Terms and may result in account termination and referral to relevant authorities.
6. User content
- Notes are private by default — visible only to you unless you choose to share or post them.
- Commons posts, comments, and stories are public within the app once posted, and may be viewed or copied by other users.
- You retain ownership of the content you create. By posting to Commons or any shared feature, you grant Selah a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, and display that content as necessary to operate the service.
- You are solely responsible for content you post. Don’t post anything that is illegal, infringing, harassing, hateful, or that violates another person’s privacy.
- We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are harmful to the community.
7. Live reading rooms (Read Together)
Read Together lets you read Scripture together with others in real time over voice and chat. Live audio is relayed between participants and is not stored by us once the session ends. The same acceptable-use rules in §8 apply to anything you say or type in a live room, and room hosts and moderators may remove participants who violate them.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users, in Commons, in comments, or in a live room
- Post spam, illegal content, or content that infringes someone else’s rights
- Attempt to access another user’s account or our systems without authorization
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the app or its infrastructure
- Use the app to distribute malware or to defraud other users, including in the giving feature
9. Bible content & intellectual property
Public-domain translations are provided free of licensing restriction. Other translations, commentary, and cross-references are licensed from third-party providers and remain subject to their respective copyright holders’ terms — you may not redistribute licensed translation text outside the app. The Selah name, logo, and app design are the property of the Developer and may not be used without permission.
10. Third-party services
The app relies on third-party providers for hosting, database, authentication, AI, subscription management, payments, push notifications, crash reporting, stock images, and live voice relay. We are not responsible for outages or issues caused by these providers, though we will work to resolve their impact on the app.
11. Disclaimers
The app is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate or theologically sound. Sermon transcription accuracy is not guaranteed, especially in noisy environments or with heavy accents or dialects.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Selah and its Developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or ₦5,000 if you have not paid us anything).
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Selah and its Developer harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the app, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
14. Termination
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraud or abuse, or if required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will survive.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. This does not deprive you of protections you are entitled to under mandatory consumer-protection laws in your own country, where applicable.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email before taking effect. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
