Song of Solomon 5:11

To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion. discretion: or, advisement

How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: lamp: or, candle

Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,

To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. no: Heb. no morning

To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins, by: or, for

To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil. simple: or, harmless

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. hath: Gr. is he who hath

But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. reproved: or, discovered

Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. he: or, it

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.

I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night.
