Then were the horsehoofs broken by the means of the pransings, the pransings of their mighty ones. pransings: or, tramplings, or, plungings

Now a certain man of the servants of Saul was there that day, detained before the LORD; and his name was Doeg, an Edomite, the chiefest of the herdmen that belonged to Saul.

He draweth also the mighty with his power: he riseth up, and no man is sure of life. no: or, he trusteth not his own life

In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand. the mighty: Heb. they shall take away the mighty

Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.

Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

Rebuke the company of spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people, till every one submit himself with pieces of silver: scatter thou the people that delight in war. the company: or, the beasts of the reeds scatter: or, he scattereth

The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep: and none of the men of might have found their hands.

Man did eat angels' food: he sent them meat to the full. Man: or, Every one did eat the bread of the mighty

For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man: a valiant: or, many people

And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness. unicorns: or, rhinocerots soaked: or, drunken

Hearken unto me, ye stouthearted, that are far from righteousness:

The snorting of his horses was heard from Dan: the whole land trembled at the sound of the neighing of his strong ones; for they are come, and have devoured the land, and all that is in it; the city, and those that dwell therein. all: Heb. the fulness thereof

Why are thy valiant men swept away? they stood not, because the LORD did drive them.

At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong horses, at the rushing of his chariots, and at the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers shall not look back to their children for feebleness of hands;

Because ye were glad, because ye rejoiced, O ye destroyers of mine heritage, because ye are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as bulls; fat: Heb. big, or, corpulent bellow: or, neigh as steeds

The Lord hath trodden under foot all my mighty men in the midst of me: he hath called an assembly against me to crush my young men: the Lord hath trodden the virgin, the daughter of Judah, as in a winepress. the virgin: or, the winepress of the virgin, etc
