יָשָׁר

And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.

Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his! me: Heb. my soul, or, my life

And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers,

Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.

Thou shalt not eat it; that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the LORD.

Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of the LORD thy God.

When thou shalt hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of the LORD thy God.

So shalt thou put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the LORD.

He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

And now, behold, we are in thine hand: as it seemeth good and right unto thee to do unto us, do.

And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. Jasher: or, the upright?

And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken unto all that I command thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do that is right in my sight, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto thee.

And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.

And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God:

And he walked in the way of Asa his father, and departed not from it, doing that which was right in the sight of the LORD.

And Joash did that which was right in the sight of the LORD all the days of Jehoiada the priest.

And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, but not with a perfect heart.

And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah did.

And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Uzziah did: howbeit he entered not into the temple of the LORD. And the people did yet corruptly.

Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: but he did not that which was right in the sight of the LORD, like David his father:

And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that David his father had done.

But the priests were too few, so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings: wherefore their brethren the Levites did help them, till the work was ended, and until the other priests had sanctified themselves: for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests. did help: Heb. strengthened them

And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the LORD his God.

And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the ways of David his father, and declined neither to the right hand, nor to the left.

Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.

Thou camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spakest with them from heaven, and gavest them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commandments: true: Heb. laws of truth

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

Upright men shall be astonied at this, and the innocent shall stir up himself against the hypocrite.

There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge.

He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not; He: or, He shall look upon men, and say

My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart. My: Heb. My buckler is upon God

For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart. privily: Heb. in darkness

For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.

The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.

For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.

O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart. continue: Heb. draw out at length

The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation. such: Heb. the upright of way

Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling. beauty: or, strength in the grave from: or, the grave being an habitation to every one of them

The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it. shall follow: Heb. shall be after it

Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation. Praise ye: Heb. Hallelujah

They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness. stand: Heb. are established

His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

TZADDI. Righteous art thou, O LORD, and upright are thy judgments.

Do good, O LORD, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.

Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.

For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.

They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.

The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.

The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.

By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain. is made: Heb. is raised up as a causey

Righteous lips are the delight of kings; and they love him that speaketh right.

The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.

There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.

The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.

The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.

A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way. directeth: or, considereth

Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession.

The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul. The bloodthirsty: Heb. Men of blood

An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.

Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.

The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just.

As for me, behold, I am in your hand: do with me as seemeth good and meet unto you. as: Heb. as it is good and right in your eyes

They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn. supplications: or, favours

And ye were now turned, and had done right in my sight, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbour; and ye had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name: now: Heb. to day which: Heb. whereupon my name is called

And now, behold, I loose thee this day from the chains which were upon thine hand. If it seem good unto thee to come with me into Babylon, come; and I will look well unto thee: but if it seem ill unto thee to come with me into Babylon, forbear: behold, all the land is before thee: whither it seemeth good and convenient for thee to go, thither go. were: or, are upon thine hand I will: Heb. I will set mine eye upon thee

Now while he was not yet gone back, he said, Go back also to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon hath made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people: or go wheresoever it seemeth convenient unto thee to go. So the captain of the guard gave him victuals and a reward, and let him go.

And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass. straight: Heb. a straight foot

And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two, which covered on that side, their bodies.

He shall also set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; thus shall he do: and he shall give him the daughter of women, corrupting her: but she shall not stand on his side, neither be for him. upright: or, much uprightness: or, equal conditions corrupting: Heb. to corrupt

Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.

O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly? straitened: or, shortened? uprightly: Heb. upright?

Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity.

The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net. good: or, godly, or, merciful

The best of them is as a brier: the most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen and thy visitation cometh; now shall be their perplexity.
