And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.

And Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate me, and have sent me away from you?

And when the LORD saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren.

And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Because the LORD hath heard that I was hated, he hath therefore given me this son also: and she called his name Simeon. Simeon: that is, Hearing

And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.

And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.

And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words.

Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.

If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, and wouldest forbear to help him, thou shalt surely help with him. and: or, wilt thou cease to help him? or, and wouldest cease to leave thy business for him: thou shalt surely leave it to join with him

Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him. and: or, that thou bear not sin for him

And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.

And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, LORD, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.

That the slayer might flee thither, which should kill his neighbour unawares, and hated him not in times past; and that fleeing unto one of these cities he might live:

Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods. to the: Heb. of the

Neither shalt thou set thee up any image; which the LORD thy God hateth. image: or, statue, or, pillar

And this is the case of the slayer, which shall flee thither, that he may live: Whoso killeth his neighbour ignorantly, whom he hated not in time past; in: Heb. from yesterday the third day

Lest the avenger of the blood pursue the slayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and slay him; whereas he was not worthy of death, inasmuch as he hated him not in time past. slay: Heb. smite him in life in: Heb. from yesterday the third day

But if any man hate his neighbour, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally that he die, and fleeth into one of these cities: mortally: Heb. in life

If a man have two wives, one beloved, and another hated, and they have born him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the firstborn son be hers that was hated:

Then it shall be, when he maketh his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated, which is indeed the firstborn:

But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his. that: Heb. that is found with him

If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her,

And the damsel's father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her;

And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife;

And the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.

If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.

Bless, LORD, his substance, and accept the work of his hands: smite through the loins of them that rise against him, and of them that hate him, that they rise not again.

Then Amnon hated her exceedingly; so that the hatred wherewith he hated her was greater than the love wherewith he had loved her. And Amnon said unto her, Arise, be gone. exceedingly: Heb. with great hatred greatly

And Absalom spake unto his brother Amnon neither good nor bad: for Absalom hated Amnon, because he had forced his sister Tamar.

In that thou lovest thine enemies, and hatest thy friends. For thou hast declared this day, that thou regardest neither princes nor servants: for this day I perceive, that if Absalom had lived, and all we had died this day, then it had pleased thee well. in: Heb. He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.

Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.

And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.

And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:

And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the LORD.

Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same, when the king's commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over them, (though it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that hated them;)

Thus the Jews smote all their enemies with the stroke of the sword, and slaughter, and destruction, and did what they would unto those that hated them. what: Heb. according to their will

But the other Jews that were in the king's provinces gathered themselves together, and stood for their lives, and had rest from their enemies, and slew of their foes seventy and five thousand, but they laid not their hands on the prey,

They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought. shall come: Heb. shall not be

If I rejoiced at the destruction of him that hated me, or lifted up myself when evil found him:

Shall even he that hateth right govern? and wilt thou condemn him that is most just? govern: Heb. bind?

The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. in: Heb. before thine eyes

Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death:

The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.

Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.

Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.

Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred. cruel: Heb. hatred of violence

I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.

I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the LORD.

Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. desolate: or, guilty

Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause. wrongfully: Heb. falsely

For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful. until: Heb. to find his iniquity to hate

But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied. are lively: Heb. being living, are strong

All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt. my: Heb. evil to me

But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us.

Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.

Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.

For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him:

To the chief Musician, A Psalm or Song of David. Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him. before: Heb. from his face

They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.

Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.

The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever. submitted: or, yielded feigned obedience: Heb. lied

For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, LORD, hast holpen me, and comforted me.

And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.

Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me. wicked: Heb. thing of Belial

He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.

And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.

The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.

Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.

SAMECH. I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love.

Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.

I hate and abhor lying: but thy law do I love.

My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.

The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.

He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hateth suretiship is sure. smart: Heb. be sore broken suretiship: Heb. those that strike hands

Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.

A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame.

He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.

The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends. the rich: Heb. many are the lovers of the rich

Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die. Correction: or, Instruction

He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.

All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.

Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour's house; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee. Withdraw: or, Let thy foot be seldom in weary: Heb. full of thee

If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:

He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him; dissembleth: or, is known

A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.

Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. deceitful: or, earnest, or, frequent

The prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.

The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul. The bloodthirsty: Heb. Men of blood

Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.

For an odious woman when she is married; and an handmaid that is heir to her mistress.

Therefore I hated life; because the work that is wrought under the sun is grievous unto me: for all is vanity and vexation of spirit.

Yea, I hated all my labour which I had taken under the sun: because I should leave it unto the man that shall be after me. taken: Heb. laboured

A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.

Whereas thou hast been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.

All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters.

They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly.

Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.

I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies. in: or, your holy days

Who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones;

And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD.

And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.
